Mueller Austin located minutes away from downtown and UT is once again offering affordable brand new homes.  Another phase of affordable housing is available under the Mueller Shared Appreciation Program.  This program is designed for homebuyers making at or below 80% of Austin's median family income.  For a single buyer the income level is $41,350.  For a family of 3 the income level is $53,150. An example of how the program works is that you could buy a $250,000 for $150,000 and not pay back the $100,000 difference until the home is resold or refinanced.  There are some qualifications that need to be met but the gist of it is the brand new home is now affordable to buyers that normally wouldn't be able to buy in this new neighborhood.
